I love proposals, and I love photographing them

Especially when on the beach in Malibu.

The anticipation.

The surprise.

The emotions.

The excitement.

It kind of makes me feel like I am a female James Bond. Waiting for the surprise.

But, really, most of the time, I am behind the camera tearing up. It kind of makes me feel like I am living in a real-life romantic comedy.

The soon to be Groom, Michael had the sweetest family. I first met with Michael’s mom, sister, and father in the parking lot in Gladstones right of the PCH overlooking the ocean. They pulled out a carload of flowers and Michael’s father was telling me how impressive the downtown flower market was.

All four of us decided to ignore the sign next to the rock that said ‘No climbing’ on the rocks and set up for the secret proposal. The three of them left and snuck away for the surprise engagement party they were hosting at Casa Del Mar.

Since I was hidden from sight and a distance away. Moments before they walked out onto the rocks, a family tried to set up their towels next to the flowered oasis. I ended up sending a friendly beachgoer to let the family know about the soon to be the proposal.

The whole beach applauded when she said yes! Michael triumphed in his proposal.

These two are all giddy as all heck and so excited to be engaged.

I love this shot of their friend that helped Michael and his family plan their Malibu proposal. She just told her girlfriend bye for the evening as we snuck off in an Uber together ready to capture the next surprise.

After the proposal, the family planned a champagne party filled with delicious appetizers which included fruit, cheese, crackers, pickles, and meats.

Mom created a sweet photo collage of the couple, who met during college in Los Angeles.

I love this intimate moment between father and son. It seemed everyone was filled with happiness and his father was filled with pride.

The night finished off with hugs laughter and the beginning of two families coming to together for what is to be a fabulous 2019 wedding in Los Angeles
