Kualoa Regional Park Session: Chung Family

There is nothing quite like the pleasure of capturing my clients’ smiles and giggles through my camera. From weddings and engagements to elopements and family portrait sessions, every experience is as unique as the wonderful people I meet, and documenting the sheer joy on their faces is what keeps me going! With Hawaii offering numerous breathtaking locations to relax and wind down, every photo looks straight out of paradise (which they surely are!). One such location is Kualoa Regional Park – a piece of paradise surrounded by green terrain and fresh water. It was the ideal location for the Chung family’s portrait session.

Chung Family Portrait Session At Kualoa Regional Park

The Chung family session was a multi-generational photo session with grandparents that flew in from Korea. Meanwhile, Ester and her family came in from Los Angeles and her brother from the Bay area. Deciding on a fun action plan, the Chung family met up with one another to go on a vacation with the little 1.5-year-old, who was clearly the star of the show. She was SO adorable! This was a really special family portrait session since everyone took the time to be with each other.

I am a huge fan of photographing families, and it was no different with the Chung family. They were dressed in casual clothing that was perfect for the beach and, even more importantly, for making beautiful memories. Everyone was in such high spirits and full of energy, posing like total pros in front of the camera and simply having the time of their lives. From walking barefoot on the grass to laying down on the wet sand, they were so carefree and fun to photograph!

As a photographer, I always make sure to make kids feel comfortable by letting them do their own thing. With kids you never know what their next move is going to be, so photographing all their silliness and sometimes toothless smiles can result in a collection of heartwarming and authentic photos, which I always look forward to documenting. And the little nugget in the Chung family certainly stole the limelight. Styled in a cute two-piece outfit, this toddler loved being her happy little self in front of the camera. The family was definitely in the mood for fun and I was so delighted to have frozen in time their precious memories.

The elders doted over the little one throughout the session, and one of my favorite moments was when mom and dad picked up their sweet daughter and swung her around gently. It was such a beautiful candid moment. Later, the parents also took a romantic stroll along the beach, taking in all the happiness from that day. Everyone had such a great time together and the best part was that the family focused on enjoying themselves rather than worrying too much about the shoot.

Make Memories With Sky and Reef Photography

I had a blast photographing the Chung family, and when I look back at these photos I can remember all the enthusiasm and excitement from that day. Coupled with amazing weather and a spectacular location, their family portrait session was superb.
